Macadamias Australia

Macadamias Australia is a division of Steinhardt Corporation. Started by Ron & Marion Steinhardt in 1958, the Steinhardt Corporation today consists of two agribusinesses run by their children and grandchildren – Macadamias Australia & Farmfresh Fine Foods.

The family business has grown from humble beginnings, a single unimproved parcel of land in Bundaberg, Queensland. Ron & Marion cleared the land to grow peanuts, corn, tobacco, sugar cane and a variety of vegetables. In 1980, under the name Steinhardt Family Farms, they moved into large scale production of tomatoes and zucchinis, and began supplying major supermarket chains throughout Australia & New Zealand. Some 18 years later, Farmfresh Fine Foods was born with the establishment of a processing and value-adding factory.

In 2004, they planted macadamias and today they maintain more than 200,000 trees and harvest about 2000 tonnes of nut-in-shell each year. Macadamias Australia is also one of the country’s largest single-variety plantations. Packed full of flavour and endless health benefits, their wide variety of vegetable and nut products are consumed in homes around the globe and used by some of the world’s largest food chains and manufacturers. After more than 60 years of successfully growing, processing and value-adding vegetables and nuts, the Steinhardt Corporation is regarded as an innovative industry leader.
